ABOUT

THE CLIENT

Refinitiv hosted 4 major annual conferences across APAC, each bringing together thousands of finance professionals. The challenge: offline events offered limited measurable value — lead generation was manual, audience sentiment invisible, and engagement purely passive.

THE PROJECT

A platform to measure offline audience sentiment in real-time and deliver personalized actions — connecting front-end conference experience with backstage service operations. Designed to transform passive attendance into active, data-driven engagement.

PROCESS
01 Discovery & Research
Conducted stakeholder interviews and on-site observation at Refinitiv conference events to map existing pain points — manual check-in flows, zero real-time feedback loops, and disconnected backstage operations. Synthesized findings into opportunity areas and design principles.
02 Concept & Wireframing
Explored interaction models for real-time engagement — from session polling to live Q&A and sentiment capture. Wireframes were iterated rapidly, tested with event stakeholders, and refined to balance ease-of-use for attendees with operational utility for event managers.
03 Design & Iteration
Developed high-fidelity UI across attendee app and operations dashboard. Designed a seamless QR-based check-in flow, real-time audience sentiment views, and personalized session feeds. Iterated through multiple rounds of feedback with conference team and Refinitiv stakeholders.
04 Onsite Deployment & Support
Provided hands-on support during live Refinitiv conferences across APAC. Served as onsite advisor — coordinating real-time design decisions, troubleshooting UX issues in the field, and capturing learnings to feed into post-event iterations.
